Florida Keys Watch Shopping
Anybody know any good shops in Key West or Marathon in the Florida Keys?
I'll be there in a month or so and plan to spend some time (and money?) in pursuit of a used Rolex or Tudor or other nice watch. |

Miami is probably best, I'll be in the keys a week from tomorrow and can't wait!
Enjoy!

The AD on Duval in Key West usually has a great selection but the staff can be a little snooty, as others advise , Miami is the better option

As Steve said, Blue Marlin in Islamorada. But don't plan on getting any good deals though.

These are great places to window shop, and typically terrible places to find a good deal. Usually better off finding deals when you not in a tourist location. Right here from a trusted seller would probably be a lot better.

Thanks Chris B - here's my attempt to replicate your awesome pic.
At the time it was positively pouring a Florida Thunder Shower so bad it flooded the streets curb to curb. This was all I could come up with by myself, one handed with an umbrella. At least it kept away all the other tourists! |

OK so here is my Key West Rolex trolling report:
First off, there were Rolexes everywhere. Even at my company's get together another guy had a similar 116233 to mine only his champagne dial was the tapestry variety. When the cruise ships pull into town it's like there must be a Rolex shop on board, so many guys are sporting their Rollies on their cruise. Little Switzerland is the only major watch dealer downtown. They had a great selection of Breitling with some really neat pieces but they only would give 5% off so no real interest in buying on the spot. Another jeweler tried to fill the void of no Rolex AD on the island so he specialized in a nice display of pre-owned Rolexes and had good looking gents & ladies Rolexes at good prices but I got the vibe they could be chuck full of no-Rolex parts if not bubble gum and elmer's glue. Amazingly he had a birchwood dial DayDate. Very interesting. Up US-1 on Islamorada is the only AD in the Keys, Blue Marlin Jewelry. They had a nice selection in their Rolex case. The Rolexes are the focal point of their very clean and airy shop. An extremely pleasant AD to shop at. They have a Blue Dial Platinum Bezel YachtMaster in stock - if you want one call them and they will ship and save you the tax. As previously posted above they do not discount at all (they fear the Rolex bogeyman aka mystery shopper) but they have a very interesting point of differentiation - they offer an additional 2 years warranty AND give you a free watch winder with every new Rolex. BTW, if you want the YM but not the winder, feel free to you ask them to mail it to me :) Ask for Fabiana she is knowledgeable and quite committed to total customer service and really pleasant to work with. Now it's off to Miami Beach where my two tone Datejust is considered a regular watch ! |

I still say buy your Rolex from "within" our ranks - you might have to pre-pay
and wait for awhile....but you will get it for a song.! |

Adding to the brands in Bal Harbor are individual stores with Rolex, Omega, Ulysse Nardin, Corum, Breitling, and Tag down the street in Aventura, and other harder to find brands in between at East Coast Jewelers and King Jewelers. Plus International Jewelry exchange also in Aventura withhundreds of new and preowned. Possibly the largest concentration of luxury watches in the US. That said, I'd buy from one of our dealers first.
