New member needs advice on how to wear jubilee bracelet

Hi
I have just been given my first Rolex, lady datejust watch with a Gold and SS jubilee bracelet. I have been to have the watch sized and it;s either too loose and sliding all over the place, or slightly tight. I am currently wearing it slightly tight, (or snug), I can just about get my little finger under the bracelet.

I have read that wearing the watch too loose or too tight can damage the bracelet. Any comments would appreciated.

I will post some photos soon.
Many thanks

Hi Louisa,

Welcome to TRF.

Congrats on a beautiful Rolex. If you can still manage to slide your little pinky between wrist and bracelet, you should be okay.

Don't wear it too loose. That would tend to stretch out the links.

The new Jubilee has this problem, I know.......no clasp with micropin adjustment.

Cheers - JJ

Welcome Louisa.

Wear it so it is comfortable on you..Too loose and the self winder will not get enough positive movement to operate properly; too snug and it will cut into your flesh during thos timews when the body swells a bit..

If it is a new one with the solid links, then you do not have the issues with older Jubilee bracelets that stretched because of the "hammer" effect of a too loose watch.

2006 jubilee bracelet

Thank you for the advice - It was purchased in 2007 however the serial number begins with F which seems to be a 2006 model. Does anyone know if this has the new Jubilee bracelet with the solid pins?

F-series would date back to 2004-2005.

Yes, the new Jubilee with ALL solid links was current at the time and still is!!

Wear it so it is comfortable on you. A pinky underneath seems about right on me. Either way, the bracelet will loosen up over time, as it gets broken in. So the "too loose" vs. "too tight" argument doesn't really make any sense.

Thanks - I'll keep it as it is then. I plan to wear it everyday so as you say will loosen up over time.
