This maybe a dumb question... When you are not using the your Expy II or GMT as a tool to track a second time zone do you keep your 24 hour hand set up like military time? Meaning at midnight all hands are together pointing at the 24 dial.
I set mine up this way so when I am not traveling I can still utilize the 24 hour hand so it has some type of purpose. What do you guys do with yours? Thanks! ![]()

Mine are always set to my local time which at the moment is GMT, and although it means its winter, is kinda cool.
Here's a gratuitous pic of my GMT sitting on the Meridian Line at The Royal Observatory Greenwich ![]() ![]() |

Way Cool photo! I'll have to get my GMT to pose there someday.
When not travelling, I keep my 24 hour hand set to GMT +1. My step-Grandmother lives in Italy and this allows me to quickly know what time it is, where she is. I wouldn't to wake a 90 year old with a 'phone call. Tempus Fugit, Trainer |

I keep my 24 hour hand on local time. For a quick time zone check when making international calls, I rotate the bezel. When traveling I adjust the hour hand (and date) to the time at my destination.
Here's a good video of how to set the GMT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=76RAJWQoosE ![]() |

Second time zone hand on my Explorer II is always adjusted on my local time zone.So wherever I may go,the red hand will show me what time it is in my hometown.

I have the Green hand and normal hand set to the same time (green hand read off the bezel, that is).

When I had a non-Rolex GMT, I had it set for California time.

ExpII's and GMTII's all set to home time which is GMT +8. Hour hand is moved as and when needed to local time.

So fa, I've left both set to the same time, but I've considered setting the 24 hour hand to something like GMT just to try something different. I probably will at some point. It's a fun watch to mess around with.

Changing the GMT hand is too much trouble. If it's on local time that means every six months resetting the time for Daylight Savings etc. I leave it on GMT. Simple. Like me.
