Black Dial RO

Much has been said about the blue and white dial Royal Oaks. They are indeed beautiful, but I happen to prefer the black dial. Aside from the sheer versatility of the color black, this dial also displays a range of shades depending on the light environment. Here are a couple of iPhone snaps of my beloved 15300!

Deep Black

Slate Grey

Nice shots! Black is very nice but nothing like the blue. I feel there are more hues on the blue depending on lighting conditions.

black is underrated imo.it is much beautiful in person as it contrasts quite nicely with steel.

I tried on the RO Tuxedo last week... Stunning black dial!! Really need to be seen in real life to properly appreciate its beauty! Didn't close the deal thou cos I found a minor fault on the display watch (that's the only one in stock).. Maybe next time. It is stunning nevertheless. (btw MSRP around usd90k) .. Nice photos of black dial RO btw .. Thank you for sharing! Jennifer

I have a blue jumbo -- love AP blues. but agree that black is spectacular too. the blue grew on me and I'm thrilled to have it, but probably would have gotten black back in the day of it weren't that I have too much black in the collection.

No one does blue like AP. that's why it's good to have at least one blue and the black in roo or the diver. Any how, the black 15300 or 5400 is beautiful. For me, blue was the only option my AD had at the time.

I thought I would prefer the balck dial, I love the Diver, but found in the ADs the white was so much more textured and more interesting, possibly also due to the lack of AR which doesnt hurt a white dial so much.
