Daytona Owners Question

When I stop and reset the sweep hand between 12 and 6 the hand resets to 60.5 sometimes. When I reset it between 6 and 12 it resets to 60, Does anyone else have this issue?

This is the response the AD gave me.

I forwarded this to my watch maker and what he said is that on a quartz that it can be adjusted with the pushes in a certain sequence.
The automatic doesn’t have that option. He said that the slightly off is within the tolerance. I played with the ones in the case and some are right on and some are just like yours and are between.
The watch would have to go back to Rolex and the case would have to be opened.
Let me know what you would like to do.

What do you think?

I'm not sure what you mean by 61? The first pic looks like its a fraction of a second before the 12. I would call that 59.82 or so.

Are you using the watch for precise timing?

No just being OCD but when you spend $12,000 for a precision time pice you would think it would be precise.

If you can live with it, perhaps wait for the next service.

My previous watch was off a bit but RSC made it right. They were also nice enough to install a new crystal as mine had a nice scratch in the center.

Tilt the face 2 degrees toward the 3 o'clock and it will look spot-on.

I wish I had one. I went to an AD last week and they told me I've got to wait a year to get hold of a Daytona :(

Mine is also off approximately .5 second. I have no problem living with it. I don't have watches worked on unless it is absolutely necessary.

Accce, I completely understand how annoying this is! On my SS black daytona, the bezel is ever so slightly off; the 60 second dot is at the 59.5 second dial marking, and it drove me insane for a few months. For a 11k+ watch, you're absolutely right, we should expect near perfection for the mechanical aspects! I tried going to RSC Chicago and other jewelers, and they simply said either I'm the only one seeing it or they would say they just can't get it perfect, even when I asked them to try. Even my fiance said I was seeing it but I know it's there haha! I'll try to post a pic here later. Personally, I think the second hand being off would be much more annoying!

I would have it fixed. There is no reason for a $12,000 watch to pass quality control in that shape.

I'd live with it if the watch is brand new. I had a bad experience sending in a pristine Daytona to the RSC for a minor fix like this. The watch came back with numerous scratches which the RSC denied. I'd just wait for the time the watch needs servicing.
