AP Counterparts
For those of you/us with bigger/flashier AP's, what do you wear as your dress watch? I was Patek shopping today, but they look awful tiny these days. Any other favorites out there? Perhaps something a bit off the beaten path.

For larger dressy watches I find Panerai and IWC worked.

For dress watches I am comfortable wearing anything 40mm+. A lot of options are available at 40mm and up.

My RO serve nicely as my dress watch, but I will also wear my Rolex DJ2 for events that need more formal attire.

IWC is a nice option with larger case sizes.

Totally agree.
Or maybe have a look at De Bethune? I haven't seen an ugly one yet.

Oh, I have. There's a DB 15 that's been sitting on eBay for over a year that occasionally calls to me. I saw some of the space ship looking ones in person as well, and they're really incredible up close as well.

I agree on the size of Patek, but then again they are not meant to be large or flashy--just dripping in sophistication. Beautiful pieces.
Well, if you don't want another AP, might I suggest the only other watch in the 'holy trinity' of Patek and AP--Vacheron (since 1755-been around a few years). The overseas is almost perfect size at 42mm. Larger than Daytona, smaller than 44mm AP. The Chronograph is stunning. Here is a pic of the new blue dial which came out this year. They also have a white and black is being discontinued. Hard watch to find, but certainly in same league as AP and PP. |

That is awful pretty. I like the way the Maltese cross is reiterated in the links of the bracelet.
