Speedy 3570.50 or 3573.50?

I have read quite a bit about the history of the Speedmaster Pro. Further, I understand the 3570.50 is more traditional from a historical aspect. That said, I am torn between the two models as the ability to see the movement intrigues me as well. Please share your thoughts of which model you think I should go with. And yes I understand that in the end, I have to make the decision but basically - what would you do?

73 for me. Owned a few 70s. Love the clear casebacks.

Can't really go wrong with either. I have the 3570.5. It's been in my collection the longest and my favorite by far. That being said, the clear case back is a great feature. Maybe you can find a 3572.5 with a plexi front and sapphire back?

I would go with the 73. I like looking at the movement. Give yourself the freedom to respect the history without being beholden to it.

This . Yeah, faced with the same decision, I also went with the 3573. I liked the low maintenance of sapphire and the ability to see that beautiful movement. Really though, you can't go wrong either way! Here are a few shots of the 3573

Agreed. The acrylic has its charms too, but I prefer 3573.

BTW, your photos are

I went with the 3570 and couldn't be happier! There really is something special about the hesalite for me.

I am in the same boat, love the hesalite and would like to marvel the movement.
almost ended up a pre-own 3572, but it was snapped up while I was still considering the price for the sample with age >10 year old and servicing needed.
Will check on this thread frequently from now on to see the advises given :)

If you are ok with buying second hand I'd suggest the 3572.50. It's like having your cake and eating too. A link to the past with the hesalite crystal and a see-through back. This watch offers the best of both worlds.

I debated this as well. I tried on the 70 at a boutique and loved it. Ordered the 73 because I felt it had to be the same. It wasn't. I soon sold it.

Just ordered a 70. I'm very excited. Can't wait to get it. I feel it has a warmer look.
