There's always a bit of controversy in this area..

Typically 25 years... If a particular reference has been discontinued then it would be sooner..

hey all,

do not know about watches. but for other items...

24 years old and lower = estate (if previously owned by someone else)
25 years - 99 years = vintage.
100 years plus = antique

guess i been to many auctions...??

just my 2 cents.

thanks

It becomes vintage when Rolex stops servicing it.

I'm going to send mine in for a full tune-up just before they hit the cut-off. What is it now for them, 30 years?

I don't think you can use 30 years as a drop dead date, it can depend on the model and whether parts are still available. I had a full RSC overhaul done on this 1960ish ladies Rolex cocktail watch a couple of months ago, and it's pushing 50 years old.
