There's always a bit of controversy in this area..
Typically 25 years... If a particular reference has been discontinued then it would be sooner..

hey all,
do not know about watches. but for other items... 24 years old and lower = estate (if previously owned by someone else) 25 years - 99 years = vintage. 100 years plus = antique guess i been to many auctions...?? just my 2 cents. thanks

I don't think you can use 30 years as a drop dead date, it can depend on the model and whether parts are still available. I had a full RSC overhaul done on this 1960ish ladies Rolex cocktail watch a couple of months ago, and it's pushing 50 years old.
