Been giving this some thought

Stopped by one of the local AD's last night where a couple of friends work. Great selection of Rolex. I looked at several, a new DJ with the concentric dial, Explorer II white dial, white gold
Daytona with meteorite dial among others. I currently have a Sub and ss DJ. They are both ready or close to being ready for a service. Thought about trading them in on new watches, would be a bit more costly than 2 services but I would have brand new watches. Could do a 2 for one trade and get something really nice as I can only wear one watch at a time anyway. It's nice to have 2 Rolex but do I really need 2? If I don't have Rolex on I wear something from my vintage collection consisting of Girard-Perregaux, Omega, Hamilton, etc.
The new ones had movements that were buttery smooth to wind and not bad to look at either. Other option is a 2 for 2 trade, a bit more out of pocket expense but still have 2 pieces, I could change it up a bit by getting rid of the Sub for an exp. II or
GMT II and trading the ss DJ for one with a different dial or maybe even a two tone. Just a couple of ideas that have bounced around in my head since last night. Your thoughts?

Personally, I avoid trade deals since you often end up losing too much money. Remember that the AD has to earn on the deal. If you are considering some other models, I would sell one or both of your watches privately and then buy the new watch model that you desire.

I agree with Bo Thomas, I'll go one step further though, you say ypu have a vintage collection? Make these two watches part of it and save up for the watch you want. If you really don't want either of the two than you are much better off selling them outright than trading them in.

I would say that if you could afford to buy the one that you really want, without selling the other two then do it. After you have the three, then you decide which you want to sell. This way you can truly decide. Many people sell and regret it later. This way you can take all the time you want to make your decision. Only you know which to keep and which to sell. No advice on this forum is going to help you with that choice. GOOD LUCK

Trade in bad deal for you. You will lose. You can sell your current watches if you want, and then have cash to negotiate what you want. You will get more watch that way. It is tempting to trade as you can get into another watch easily, but if you do the math, you will lose....I guarantee it. Like trading in a car that is upside down on a new car. BAD BAD. Best to sell car privately, then take cash as down payment on new car. Same idea.

Sell it on your own and then buy the watch you want or...like LC mentioned, if you can afford to carry all three, go that route and decide which ones to keep and which ones to let go. That's what I do.
