you are better off buying a rolex in the U.S. The dollar is weak right now.

If you are looking to buy brand new, the prices of Rolex in Singapore are pretty much controlled and fixed, with few discount; unless if you are a regular customer of the AD.

For pre-own, there are a number of watch shops selling them in Lucky Plaza and Far East Shopping Centre in Orchard Road and a few more elsewhere. The prices can be bargained and you can shop around for the best price. Tourist can get a tax refund ( I think about 7% ) at the airport if you can get a tax invoice from your seller.

I'm in Singapore for vacation right now and yes, the prices of Rolex/Tudor and watches in general is higher than that in the U.S. The good news is that all the watch shops are located close to each other and you can try a huge variety in a short amount of time. Decide in Singapore, buy back in the U.S.

Depends where your coming from.

Singapore is far cheaper than my homeland, but not as cheap as some other places.

Also depends what you're looking for.

Best advice I can give you is do your homework first. In my case, I saved about 20% as compared to back home - plus the stock was readily available - which is definitely not the case in Australia.

Agreed with all of the above re: Singapore! If you're looking for a good deal, take a flight to Bangkok...

I have heard that Thailand is cheaper than Singapore but it is by no means cheap where list price is concerned. I'm don't think that it is as cheap as the US for example as the List on an EXPII in the US is $8,100 I think.

Here are a couple of prices that I can remember as I looked at them very recently

Explorer II 42mm - THB 265,700 = USD $8,631.39

GMT MasterIIc - THB 276,700 = USD $8,988.74

Datejust 41mm (smooth bezel) - THB 234,700 = $7,624.34

For all of the above you can get a 10% discount. When leaving at the airport you get a further 7% VAT refund.
There are 12 AD's in Bangkok and they all seem to be exactly the same in list and what discount they will give. I tried all of them when buying my EXPII.
I have also heard that there are lots of places to buy second had pieces but I have not ever checked into it.

Nothing is cheap in "lucky" plaza.

Try the Singapore's local Rolex forums sg-roc.com for better deals compared with anywhere else.

Even with VAT/GST refund at the airport, Singapore is still expensive vs other countries in South East Asia. Your best bet for cheap Rolex would be Hong Kong though you have to be cautious in buying from an AD or reputable sources.

Try the rolex boutique at Changi airport terminal 2. The selection is limited but I found a good price on my Deep Sea 3 years ago.

In singapore u need to pay for a piece of paper to own a car for 10years
This paper cost $60,000usd currently, and expires in 10years
It is called a certificate of entitlement
It entitles u to buy a car
The $60,000usd is cost of paper cert alone, car price not inclusive
Sometimes it can go as high as $80,000usd

I can buy > 10 rolex with this kind of money

And what has your reply post anything to do with what the original posters question was.
