Production ended in 2001 for one of the best engineered movements ever made, some would say over enginnered - Try and find a quartz mechanism such as this cal:5035 Rolex movement with 11 jewels (?). Actually I would have liked to see the Cal: 5335 with 23 jewels ready for assembly with a perpetual calendar - but the Rolex supremos decided to drop the quartz line.

These were finished to a higher standard than the regular Rolex "bread & butter" mechanical automatic movement. Only 25.000 produced in all metals -that's an exclusive club when we know that Rolex makes over 1Million watches a year.

Rolex 17013, best built quality by Rolex...It is perfectly natural during the creation of premium watches for the emphasis to be placed not only on outstanding functionality but also on the appearance of the parts, and the aesthetic finish as well. The true masterpieces are characterized by unique decoration and workmanship. By the way in which the anglage also extends to the invisible parts and the way in which the other decorative processes are also not necessarily restricted to the visible parts of the movement. These pieces demand exceptional expertise, practice and a great deal of time. Movement decoration includes processes such as engraving, stippling, snailing, perlage and the Côtes de Genève or Geneva Stripes - this Rolex has all 3 ...

Serial 8.4xx.xxx ca. 1984 in steel and with sapphire crystal and an integrated to the case jubilee "look" bracelet, with date aperture at 3 in excellent condition - personal warranty similar to Rolex new watches for 2 years
