Dinks are inevitable, unless the watches are safe queens. I don't even remember how I get the 1st dings.

I got some hairline scratches on the bracelet of my SS GMT IIc, but luckily no dings, yet.

BTW: After a full month of wearing the SS GMT IIc, I have just washed it and put it back in the safe.

I am now wearing my SS Daytona as I type this.

Lucky to have your coronet aligned dead on 12 on your crown there!

I tripped over my Labrador. I did a quick face plant and dragged the watch down the length of my Wolf range so I wouldn't land on the dog. Several scratches and a big ding in the gold of the TT. Luckily, it was on and around the clasp, not the crystal. When I brought it in for service, they said it was too deep to buff out. A new bracelet was $4400 (I passed). I think it adds character. Love my Lab, but it has easily cost me more than $10,000. I wouldn't trade him for anything.

I will need to get a decent camera, these are not dings.
Mine has had more hits than The Beatles.

If your picture is too big, it won't load. Reduce it down to 1700 x 1700 pixels.

real damage

okay, I just bought a vintage datejust and it had a really clean crystal (some minor stuff, not noticable). I wore it for about a week and suddenly my cyclops is scuffed (in a visually obstructive sort of way). How can an original 1979 crystal stay scratch free for 40 years and then get damaged in one week? Or, is it possible something's up with this "original crystal" on this "real rolex" that I have yet to get authenticated. Help?!
