16710 GMT MAster II Band Question
I have a 16710 mid 90s model GMT Master II.
I wanted to upgrade the band, so today I purchased a new style GMT Master Oysterlock Band with solid end links from an authorized dealer in Dallas. The band fits great on one side, but on the 6 o'clock side it seems kind of loose. You only notice this if you hold the watch and the end links and wiggle them at the same time. Is this common? Do I just have to live with this if I want the up dated band, or is there a fix? |

I didn't think an SEL bracelet would fit a non SEL case. Plus, the lug hole placement is different on SEL vs non SEL cases.

I went to Dallas Gold & Silver Exchange today and checked out a newer GMT Master II with the new band I installed on my watch (78790A). The fit was exactly like mine. It was also the same on a Sea Dweller. I was just expecting the fit to be better. Mine is fitting as it is suppose to. the fit is not really lose, but if you wiggle the end link against the watch case with enough force, you do notice some play.

Figured out the fitment issue. The person I bought the watch from used spring bars from a no holes case on my holes case. I used the correct spring bars, and they fit perfectly. The end of the spring bars are slightly larger on the bars for a no holes case. The spring bars that were being used in my watch accounted for the "play" I was experiencing.
