Well, that didn't last long. After only a week on the leather strap, the Jubilee is now back on the DateJust. Perhaps it was because I had such a cheap leather band that I didn't really feel was worthy of being there. Perhaps I just couldn't find a nice strap in time. Or maybe it's just because that new Jubilee bracelet is so nice and I was missing it. I'd still like to get a nice, quality leather strap and will be looking for one. I took my watch to the AD and had them reattach the bracelet and polish out the minor scratches I had created by foolishly attempting to work on it myself. I didn't have the right tools. Anyway, the watch is back to normal and in pristine condition.
Without the bracelet on I kind of felt like I was wearing half a Rolex. Am I crazy?

For those whom I told I would update once I found a good quality leather strap, I'll still do so.

I think the DJ looks stunning either way, but the jubilee looks especially good.

I think they can be nice for a change. A bit of a novelty but can't compare to the bracelet imo. Plus they tend to get a little funky over time especially in the summer and if you are active.

Yeah, I really like the idea of a nice leather strap and liked the look of it. It is a nice change. Part of my problem, I think, was that I had a leather strap of such poor quality and it bothered me. Perhaps if I had put a much nicer one on there to start with it would have lasted a little longer. I did have a problem with the leather band rubbing up against the case of the watch and it was beginning to show wear in a short amount of time.

I think that watch look GREAT with a jubilee. I wouldn't switch it.

I agree, I think the DJ looks great on the Jubilee.

But for comparison, here's a TT DJ on its original Rolex leather strap.

I rather like it as a dress watch.

While at the AD I also spent some time discussing the new jubilee bracelets and the issue of stretching. The salesman said that with the new bracelets that there is really no concern with that. He also said that in the past dirt and grime were still the biggest reasons for damage to the jubilee bracelets or any bracelets. He said if one were to keep their bracelet clean then stretching really wouldn't be a problem at all.

The new Jubilee bracelets are great looking. Unfortunately, they can't be retrofitted onto older DJ models.

I still think it looks sweet on a strap. You needed a good lizard, though--something polished with some reptilian grain would have set that baby off right nice.

What kind of tools did you need to switch them out? Did you have the right tools? Would different tools have prevented your scratches?

I want to get a strap for my DJ, but I'm wondering how difficult it is to change yourself, what tools I'll need, and whether or not I'll likely mess it up and damage the bracelet in the process.
