Changing the date forward or backwards.

Aloha members,
Just wondering. To change the date takes a lot of winding forward. Say I have not worn the watch for oh 15 days. And it is say Aug 9th! The watch stopped on the 19th. Instead of having to wind forward 20 days can you wind the watch backwards without hurting the watch? So instead of winding for 20 days you wind it backwards for only 10 days!

Mahalo gang,

Tom

I believe it might be a problem doing so on some ETA equipped watches and maybe some Seikos, no problem at all on Rolexes as far as I know, that is how i usually do it about every second time.

edit: I just realized that the ETA and Seikos I was thinking about has a quick set feature so the question is somewhat pointless for them...

In short: no problem!

There might be a simpler way, but owe would need to know which watch you want to re6-set. Perhaps a model number if its a Rolex.

Tom, the best way is what works for you. Personally, on my non-quickset watches, I just leave it alone since I only wear it for a few days at a time before I strap on another one.
