I have a place for leather, bracelet, sailcloth and rubber in my watch collection. Would be boring to only have one type.

It's just a trend of the times. SS bracelets are the in thing today. But a nice dress watch on a leather band is never out of style & your Patek is never out of style.

I love leather. It's classic. Prepare to pay 600$ for replacement. Rubber/ silicon is the new fasion

I think if you were to put 100 WIS in a room you'd see much more balance between leather and ss. Maybe still more on bracelet, but certainly more balanced than an average bar or pub would have.

Straps, straps, straps!
Can't say I'm a bracelet fan.

I have also noticed that, except for dress or vintage watches, overwhelmingly I see some sort of metal bracelet or rubber/silicone.

I love the look of leather straps. Both are great.

i started out with bracelet bracelet bracelet.
but then felt the comfort and beauty of leather straps. the more i wear them the better it gets. there are reasonable durable and easily replaced. now i am swapping all my bracelets to leather including my PCLs. |

Jumping in again to agree with you that Metallic makes a good point.
