Spring bars on my 116610 look different. Should I be concerned?

Hi all,

I noticed recently that the two spring bars on my 116610 look different from each other. I don't have a spring bar tool to fix this, so I was wondering if I should be concerned (first image doesn't look right to me). I know I have scratches on the underside of the lugs, and they were made by RSC as they're the only ones who have ever removed the bracelet from the watch head (go figure)... Any help is appreciated -- thanks!

Looks the same to me. If you are concerned and located in NYC just go over to the RSC and have it checked out.

Spring bar in the first pic has one notch showing. Spring bar in second pic has two notches showing. Far from the same! I'm worried that one of the spring bars was reinstalled wrong and maybe I shouldn't be wearing the watch, or something.

Just order new Spring Bars if you are concerned. They are very easy to install. Something every Rolex Owner should know/Learn how to do.

They do look different in those pictures so I can understand your concern. The second set of pictures is what it should look like for a Subc. I'm not sure if there's a reason to worry though, however I would want my watch to have the appropriate springbars also, so I'd go ahead and take it to your AD or a competent watchmaker to take a look and switch theat spring bar.
I'm too anal and like things in this category to be factory correct. Good luck.

should be a easy job to get it fixed.
Agree with Rashid.bk, should not be a big concern, the parts are very hard and firm usually.

Just give your bracelet a could tug if it stays on the head all is well its just a spring-bar that locates in the lug holes via springs in the bar it self.Just get any small metal tool that will fit and push outward between the two spring-bar stops but look fine to me, that's the trouble with high magnification it always look worse that what it is..

Possiblt the spring bar with just 1 notch showing isn't seated fully into the hole?

The bracelet has obviously been removed in the past (scratches on the lugs). It's possible they grabbed a different sping bar during the installation...or maybe the original went flying across the room and was lost.

Either way, just get some from your AD and swap them out. It's good practice to change springbars every so often anyway.

I change my bars every year. It's cheap insurance and simple enough to do when I'm cleaning bracelets.

Your 116610 should use spring bars # 23-40340 the one in the first picture noes not appear to be correct, (could be out of focus) the second picture looks to be the correct 23-40340 spring bar.

I would drop back in to the RSC and have them replace/install correct matching spring bars, just to be on the safe side.

Cheers.
