Advice Request: Watch for dad's birthday

Well my dad's birthday is coming up in April and I'd like to get him something special this year. He only wears gold (YG), so I'm on the market for a Day Date. Does anyone have any other-brand/model (non-Rolex) recommendations for YG watches in the same general price range? Just thought I'd ask for opinions from some of the more 'matured' members on here. No diamonds, nothing excess, just plain YG.

You could give him a Patek Philippe watch. But it would have to be on a leather strap to match the price.

A nice Vacheron Constantin could be a good choice, too.

I second the call for a Patek.

Or a Glashuette Original. Their Rose Gold looks yellow to me, probably need to see in person if it's yellow enough.

Something like:

Can I be your dad this birthday?

Fine gesture, pal!! Try and find out what he really likes and then surprise him.

Good luck - JJ

A yellow gold day date is going to be hard to beat.

Of course a yellow gold GMT II or Daytona would be nice as well.

I am sure your dad will be pleased with whatever you get him.

How about a nice Omega Aqua Terra? I believe those come in YG. Very classy, clean design. Or maybe an IWC Portugese. Those, too, are very classy looking pieces. I think the gold President would be the ultimate though.
