What's your current "goal" with regards to Rolex?

Well seeing as how I am in the middle of a trade for a new piece I will post very soon, I won't divulge what my most recent piece is going to be. Barring that, in the future I see myself getting the rhodium dialed, Arabic numeral stainless steel Datejust 2. In close competition is a GMTIIC.

Personally, I'm wanting to add an LVc and BLNR before the end of the year. If I'm able to accomplish that, then and I will probably be done with the brand for a while as I venture off and explore AP and perhaps Patek. I know as Rolex fans, we're never "done" with the brand and of course I would love to add an 18k GMT or WG Sub or Everose Sky Dweller (or even make the foray into vintage) but not before I try some other things.

My next planned purchase is a Sub C but if I find another watch I want at a "can't resist" price I'll jump on it. As far as Rolex is concerned I'd like to add an Explorer II and a DJ (or DJII). I have my eye on other models from other brands, however, and will probably try to add some of those after the Sub C. In the meantime, I will enjoy what I have and hope that I outlive Peter aka Padi56.

I want a Gmtc YG next but it will be a while yet so Im gonna enjoy what I have, and the anticipation, always an important part of the watch experience for me.

Pretty sure next will be a Coke GMT. I want to try to hold off, and make it a Christmas present for myself. I my buy it, use it, put it back in the box, and not show anyone close to me until Christmas.

Down the line I would like a white face Daytona, though I only like it for the look. I travel internationally pretty often, so the GMT is actually more practical.

Or, I may get a ceramic GMT instead of he Daytona, and focus my collecting on the GMT. Though I like to enjoy each watch I have, so I don't want to get too many too soon. I'm looking at a 5 year plan, maybe longer to get a total of 3 more.

I'm contemplating selling my Pam 372 this year to help fund a BLNR. I'd like a Pam in the stable and the 372 is perfect if only it were a little smaller for my wrist. But I think I could enjoy a BLNR for days when I want a little more flash than my Explorer 39mm. I want an all gold piece eventually, but that's a few years out.

I'm seriously considering a blue Tudor Heritage Chrono at present, and otherwise discovering Zenith El Primeros.

Rolex has become too dull and predictable.

My next Rolex goal is a YG DDII, which is pretty far off for me given the price. Further, I want to add some variety in my collection before I buy another Rolex, so that would be a few watches down the road.

Current trends seem to be very polarizing, with newer guys going with whatever is the latest and greatest, and the older guys moving farther and farther back into the collection. Always exceptions, of course.

Nothing unsusual about that. That is the natural cycle of life in most things, I think. I'm in between the two. I like the new and the old but I can see my tastes shifting to vintage in the next few years.
