Two different playing fields... The bracelet and the snowflakes are The only things the pelagos have on the sub. Everything else on the sub is superior, IMO. The sub is a tool/dress watch with a in-house movement. The pelagos is pretty much a tool watch. I'd keep the sub and try on the pelagos a few times. If it still cries out for ya, save up. I wouldn't trade a vintage Tudor sub snowflake for the pelagos either. I loved it in the pics, but after trying it on for the day, it did nothing for me.

Mostly the fact that he already owns it is the big thing. And IMO the SubC looks better. Don't get me wrong, the Pelagos is nice. Very nice. But it's a brand new offering and doesn't have history. The Sub on the other hand has 60 years of history and is one of the most desired watches in the history of watches.

Gotcha, I scratch my history itch with Panerai... Which in turn ruined me for Rolex. 40mm just doesn't do it for me anymore.

I actually wouldn't mind adding a Panerai to fold because I think they are unique. Their history is a bit storied, as they are credited with providing the Italian Military with some watches but some accounts have that at around 300 total watches. I'm not a Paneristi so I can't say for sure. But I think there is little dispute that without Sylvestor Stallone, none of us might know Panerai even existed. Rolex, on the other hand, has had many many famous people wear them with great prominence. You got me on the 40mm. But since I have a puny wrist, they work well for me.

Panerai amped up my watch hobby enjoyment to a whole new level & don't even get me started on the strap addiction.

I'm gonna be in minority here, but my vote goes for Pelagos, more interesting and IMHO only true tool watch.

Like everyone else, I say keep the Sub and save up for the Pelagos if you want it later on.

Compare both side by side and if you really like Pelagos, save up and add it to your collection.
Otherwise, keep the Sub C.
