RSC without the Bracelet?

What are RSCs like about servicing a watch without a bracelet (or with a NATO strap)? Do they insist on a the watch being 100% intact with bracelet before they'll service it? Thanks.

They will service just a watch head.

It was custom & practice for my local AD to the send the head to RSC, having their guy polish up the strap.

Of course the customer was non the wiser (and the price reflected this) until one day they fitted the wrong bracelet to my pals TT GMT. He was a massive guy with extra links in the band, the one they'd fitted to his watch barely went over his wrist.

I tried that myself. The AD apparently called RSC and asked them if I could send in the watch head only and their response was.."there will be no warranty then". That is supposedly because they knew I bought it from an AD with a bracelet. Who knows their real reason. Just know that they are "finicky" about stuff like that. They gave me attitude about engraving my case back, getting rid of the cyclops, etc. It always seems to be about warranty in the end though. It just goes on and on and on with them.

I had no problem with RSC NYC with a Nato strap on one of my watches.

The one thing that really frustrates me about Rolex is the difference in responses you can get from AD;s, RSC NY and RSC Dallas on the very same question or issue.

I had NYC RSC service my Daytona that has a sub bracelet on it and they serviced and warrantied both. They did try to sell me the correct bracelet for $4995 but I passed. I like wearing the Daytona to the beach and feel better about it with the Sub bracelet on it when in the water.

When I got a vintage serviced at RSC last summer they would not let the watch leave them without the bracelet being on the watch. Kind of like a concerned parent I suppose. Sort of the reverse of your question, but it sounds like your not getting consistent answers so it might be luck of the draw with them.

Thanks all. Will try and remember to update this thread when I take it in for a service just before I take my Italian vacation (a good time to have it in safe keeping!) next month.

The only thing I'd add is that you won't get a discount because they are not polishing a bracelet. Fact is you don't get a discount if you tell them not to polish anything.

Not sure why they wouldn't give you a warranty just because you didn't send the bracelet in.
