Best way to clean a Rolex?????

Hey all,

Just bought my first Rolex. Decided on the DJ2 silver sticks dial.
How often should I clean the watch and more importantly what is the best way to clean the watch.

Any special soap or cloth needed?

Thanks for the help

Try a search in the main Rolex forum. You will have countless hours of reading! And congrats on the first Rolex. Enjoy it!

Liquid hand soap using a soft toothbrush about once a week, rinse, dry, and enjoy.

I used to put mine into the dishwasher with the dishes, true story, but learned here that it wasn't a good idea. Now, when we are doing a small batch of dishes in the sink, I toss them in with the dishes and it comes out sparkling. You'll find that they are darned hard to hurt.

the preferred method, of course, is in the shower, with clear liquid shampoo.....

of course, 889, this just means, "welcome to TRF!"

x10~!

Always use a light hand soap and soft toothbrush.

For internal cleanings send it back to Rolex (when it starts breaching COSC) and it will come back to you like new.

Good luck and congrats!

Soap and water, and the occasional ultrasonic bath for the bracelet every 6-12 months or so. The movement gets a full cleaning at service so that takes care of itself.

This...

My Sub always looks great after getting this treatment. I believe Rolex suggests basically this method of cleaning.

Any soap or cloth that will not harm yourself will be fine just rinse well in fresh water after.

I drive through a car wash, roll down the window and extend my arm. Bring towels. Lots of towels.

Every once and awhile when washing my hands I will take a minute to rub with soap and warm water while on my wrist! Dry with a soft cloth and "Bam" it's good as new!
