That's an Omega triple date (day, date, month), although I really am not sure of more details... never seen big fonts like yours before. Here's mine:
 As for setting the day/date/month, it is actually fairly straight forward. That said, the crown is a little small, and sometimes I too find it a chore having to wind it to the correct dates. |
