Is it real or fake? Dial has 'SWISS' only. Price is $4300.
Don't know the SN on this watch, only that it is 1997 vintage.

1997 is not vintage lol post in the watch out section. You might get more help. Also give more details. Box? Paper? Etc

Btw the 24 hour hand should be red. Im not a expert but thats a huge red flag

Can't really see the 24 hr hand.. It may be red..

I suspect that the watch is newer than stated and is a GMT Master 16700.. The "Swiss" dials were used in 98/99 when they changed over to Luminova.

Do you have some reason to suspect that it is not authentic ???

Need to see the movement, ask for pic of that.Swiss only dial is correct for that time period, AFAIK.Not a bad price

The dial is of a GMT Master 16700. The early luminova dials were marked Swiss, so that in itself is not a problem. I would suspect most people on here would want to see more photographs before commenting further. Personally I wonder why the seller is showing their watch with the hands covering most of the detail on the dial and the minute hand covering the 24 hour hand, plus the date being partially obscured.

It's hard to see the color of the 24-hour hand behind the minute hand, but I can tell you the "SWISS" dial started in 1998 when Rolex changed from Tritium and the T<25 dial. Without the SN, it would be hard to tell whether the watch was from 1997 or 98. Other than that, it looks good to me.

Thanks Guys for your help. There's no Paper nor service record with this watch and the SN wasn't disclosed in the ad. I'll try and get the SN from the seller.
The missing 'II' after the GMT-Master is a mystery if the watch is a 16710.

Just spoke with the seller and after removing the braclet, the seller said it is
16700 not 16710 as he had thought. The SN U90xxxx and has a red 24 hr hand.

That SN is consistent with a "SWISS" dial (I have a U78xxxx 16710 with SWISS). With no papers or serial number I presume 1997 is the owners guestimate for date of purchase, 1998 or even 99 is more likely.
Not sure about prices in the US but the equivalent in £s over here would be pretty good.

Tell hi, to knock off a couple of hundred $ because its not a 16710. The 16700 is a great watch and if you could get it under $4g's IMHO that wold be a good deal.

Looks good to me. I'm wearing my A-serial pepsi 16700 today. They are great watches and I like having something a little different as opposed to 16710s. If it's from a private seller, I'd offer $3900-$4k depending on service history and condition (polish, bracelet stretch, etc).
