RO/ROO scratches - inevitable?

Hi fellas,

I know there are tonnes of threads of lads complaining how the polished parts of RO's and ROO's are 'scratch magnets' but I did not know it was that bad (although I own AP's :s)

Got a brand new ROO 42mm ss recently and I have been wearing very very carefully, no contact with anything etc, but there seems to be some 'hair lines' on the bezel - is it possible that this could have happened due to my clothing? I know I havent banged it anywhere etc.

AP's are so gorgeous but so fragile in this sense :s

Scratches on any watch is inevitable, once your wear it, it will come out no matter how careful you are, take it or never own any luxury watch

Scratches will happen, especially on SS. Look at any old Rolex - not only that, the bezel tends to fade with time (which adds character).

If you are that concerned about scratches go for a ceramic bezel instead!

Yes, on the RO it's not as high so seems fine. On a steel bezel ROO, hairlines seem to be unavoidable. Good way to spend $8K more for a ceramic bezel lol

I baby my watches and they still seem to get some wear, whether it is from clothing or hitting things

Don't listen to Mike or your bank account will suffer. Unfortunately, he is too right!

Nothing unusual about that--but as was stated and ceramic or nice forged carbon would solve that issue.
