I think the AP is more versatile. Sporty, dressy, etc.

Portuguese Chrono isn't even close, but the 7-Day (5001) can give it a serious run for the money. Especially the -07.

I think the 5001-7 is a better work watch as it's less bilingy and looks dressy on strap.

I've owned both and have to say the 5001 is awfully thick...I loved it, but the RO is much more versatile for me. Fits nicely under shirts and jackets etc.

The AP works on the beach, but also at the office. The leather strap on the IWC makes it good for office use, but not so much for leisure. I vote 15400. I thoroughly enjoy mine!

I really like the Iwc, but as many have said the AP is more versatile. Start with the Ap and later you can get the Portuguese.
