OSX Mavericks is it worth it to upgrade?

Just updated my MBP and my Mac Mini, seems really fluid!

Have to do Evas computer once she's off Facebook!

I was hesitating a bit, that's why I waited 24h to do the update!

I can recommend it, seems a bit faster, and my MBP is running a little cooler.

My MB is also running a bit cooler but I think it has to do with the colder weather.

If it will continue this smooth, this was an awesome update, and a needed one! I never was a mountain lion fan really. Buggy as heck...

And the upgrade was... FREE! Woohoo!

Overall... Not bad. 2 year old MBA is running about 5-10% slower, but the new features make it worth it. I upgraded from basic Lion. Never tried the Mountain Lion.

As a typical male that hates change, I actually like the release. Considering it's still so new, this means I'll LOVE it when I'm used to it.

Don't forget, IOS 7.03 just came out for the phone. MUCH BETTER!

I really like how Apple released Mavericks for free...yes totally free...you would never see that from Windozzz!!!

Apart from that Mavericks is a qualitative improvement as an operating system with much improved utility of power consumption. It reminds me of those new 'blueenergy' cars which turn off the engine automatically when one stops at the traffic lights.

Apple done good and I like the new "iPad Air" it is a really nice improvement too.

Mavericks may not look very different to the previous operating system but it is said there is a massive amount of changes under the hood.

Mavericks seems rock solid after 24 hours. Everything works at least as good as it did before the upgrade.

just updated computer, but going to have to wait to move to new software...

i think it would be normal to anticipate at least some compatibility issues with third party software, just don't feel like finding out after its done.

its nice to hear positive reviews about it.

I want to move up but once again being held back by Parallels when they want $50 to upgrade to Mavericks. Not very happy considered I paid for Parallels 8 only a year ago.

Make sure you have the latest build (by updating internally in Parallels) and it works, no problem for me. Running Parallels 8.

Still running smooth.

This is the smoothest upgrade I've experienced since osx.

Although my laptop is fairly new (retina 15) so perhaps that is why.
Older laptops might not have been so lucky.

Mine is the last pre-retina model.
