Favorite watch I have ever owned. One of the most comfortable as well.

My DSSD is still my fave all around watch (LS dress shirt or casual shirt) and wear it on rotation weekly. I prefer it best on leather as I hate the taper on the OEM bracelet. Have had it for three years and still love to wear it each time. It is one of a kind.

Have had a Deepesea for about six months. I love this watch but it does get heavy. I've even put it on a rubber b but it still gets a bit much at times.
It's the best looking dial of the divers, domed crystal and matte dial is just dreamy to stair at in the sunlight.
I don't want to sell it because I know I'll miss it but as a Deepsea die-hard fan I must admit that it really cannot be an only watch for the average buyer. Some can pull it off but most have not.

I may add an 114060 to give it a break.

Funny to hear this. I hit this same feeling 6 months into owning it. Parted with it for much smaller watch and while I miss it sometimes the new addition makes me smile even more.

Big difference between DSSD and Aquanaut 5165 ;-).

The DSSD is an amazing demonstration of engineering and execution - a tribute to Rolex and a piece belonging in everyone's collection. That said, I am in work clothes (suit & tie) most of the time and just can't get the DSSD to work well in that situation both from a style standpoint and from a dimensional standpoint with tightly cuffed dress shirts.

Weekends, casual wear and vacations - gotta rock the DSSD!

I would not want to be without it but I certainly would not want it as a "one and only."

Have been toying with idea of getting a Deepsea for quite some time - no doubt it is one serious piece of engineering! I also have an option of picking up a preowned one from my AD at a good price. Just cant quite get it with the size though. Tried one on briefly and it felt too big for normal wear. My Explorer 42mm just about feels on the limit for me and even it took a little getting used to. The Deepsea seems a fair bit bigger than that - might just be too big.

I wear my DSSD daily and right now I'm currently on the gray Rubber B strap and I literally wear it 24/7. Sleeping, showering, work, yard work, running, everything and it's perfectly acceptable. On the bracelet I only take it off for running.

This is my second long term DSSD as I sold the first one after feeling like I had my "dive" watch need covered with a HULK and an Omega PO chrono. Now you want to see a watch that is completely not appropriate for daily use check out a PO 9300 Chrono in stainless steel on bracelet.... that is the definition of "accent watch" which is only pulled out for a random day or part of day here and there. I also had one of the new Ploprof's which is the heaviest and largest watch to ever grace my 7" wrist. The DSSD is completely normal for me now and I love wearing it every day.

Rare thing to see my HULK, EXPII42mm, or DJII on my wrist.

The first week after I purchased my DSSD, I was convinced that I would keep my 114060 and get rid of the DSSD. I was looking for a daily wearer. The 114060 fit the bill, but being me, I was always on the lookout for the perfect piece. The DSSD fit the bill with the larger diameter, domed crystal and date without a cyclops, but it wasn't as comfortable as my SubC and, well, it was different. It had a different look with the thick crystal and matte dial. It wasn't quite what I was used to. I was convinced that between it and the SubC, the DSSD would be the one to go...eventually. But I kept wearing it. I took the advice and removed the diver's extension and it made such a difference that I gave the DSSD some more time.

For the most part, I forget that I'm wearing the DSSD now. It's comfortable. I've adjusted to the thick crystal with it's double reflection and extra depth. I pull out my SubC every now and then, to think about changing, but it's the SubC that now looks "different" to my eye and doesn't feel any more comfortable than the DSSD. It fits under every shirt cuff that my SubC does and looks great with casual wear. I would leave the option open to trade it for something else someday, but the more I wear the DSSD, the more it becomes my one and only.

The only way to really know if the DSSD is for you is to buy it, fit it and wear it for awhile.

Been wearing my 114060 for its honeymoon period for a couple months, dssd in the safe. Put it on last night, and bam, fall in love with it all over again.

The Sub-C was my daily wear before I bought The DSSD. I'm not really a 40mm kind of guy. I try 40mm and I can never convince myself that I like smaller watches. The DSSD is my daily wear watch. I have others but I like a Rolex diver.

That being said, I like the DSSD, but it's balance if off. The clasp is too narrow and the watch head is tall and heavy. My preferred sizing is a little gap so that it doesn't stick to my wrist. This causes the head to slide around. Sometimes this feels less than pleasant. Anyone who says that this is a comfortable watch makes me scratch my head and wonder.

I'm not giving it up but the fit and feel could have been better with a thicker clasp and bracelet.

Sadly I don't posses a DSSD, but I have a Submariner and a POXL. Initially I really enjoyed the PO, but after time I got more and more uncomfortable with the bulk. It is such a relief strapping on the Sub after wearing the PO, having said that I do like the looks of the bigger case, just does not wear comfortable.

I assume this is analogue to the feeling of a DSSD.

I've had my DSSD for 3.5 years, wore it as my daily for a year until the pearl fell out of the insert (another story!). I love the watch as part of a rotation, it's a pretty special and fantastically engineered watch, would never want to sell it

If its loose I would think that flop would happen regardless of the width of the clasp. It's got a pretty dense hunk of steel to counterbalance on the DSSD. Try it on RubberB it's really a different experience or try dive extension removed and then go one ratchet tighter on the glidelock.

It took me many trials with the DSSD to get it to fit well and not sloppy but still have a little play as I also don't like a tight metal bracelet. I ended up using a half link on the 6 o'clock side and removed to dive extension and kept all stock links on the 12 side.

I flipped my 1 year old daily wear DS as soon I tried on 14060m at my AD. Never looked back. The sub ended my flipping .
