The 'box" - the front of it actually features the first few pages of de Balzac's writings. The second photo shows the center of the book and the cut-out that contains the pen.

The packaging is a departure from all of the other Writers' Series pens; I have all of the pen in the series and, while all of them came packaged in a box that resembles a book, this one is much more reminiscent of an actual book that has been hollowed out to accommodate the pen. IMO, a very nice touch!

I also have many of the pens from the MB Writers series and all have the same size box.
Looking forward to adding the Balzac fountain pen to my collection.
