Just came across this posting on eBay and saw the logo on both the clasp and the fliplock on a Red 1680.

I've never seen this before. Maybe an aftermarket fliplock clasp. Has anyone else?

Funny I noticed that last night on eBay as well, but was too lazy to dig out my 9315 to compare. I don't recall mine having two, but I'll look when I get home.

Although I have never seen this particular clasp before, I find it interesting. The coronet on the flip lock appears very similar to the coronet found on some of the Hecho en Mexico bracelets. I, for one, wouldn't let that one little detail get in the way of a purchase since I have seen many watches that have been found fitted with incorrect, aftermarket, counterfeit or missing bracelets. Price the watch accordingly!

Good to know. I've been reporting these counterfeit items for many years, and as an enhanced member at "the pond," I am able to have items removed that are counterfeit. I have never seen this one on ebay, TRF, VRF or any of the other watch forums.

I've examined the complete bracelet and see nothing on it that appears, counterfeit or incorrect expect that fliplock. Actually, there are plenty of tool marks and wear patterns that appear to be the result of its age.

I have a photo of the fake I was thinking of. I tend to document weird stuff I come across, no reason not to really. Helps with the memory. The photo I have is different from this flip lock so now I have to step back from my earlier statement of seeing this exact one, but mine is quite close. If the mods don't mind, I can post it here or send it to you directly Springer. Either is fine

We post counterfeit items, or suspected counterfeit items quite often here, and in the Watchout Section. Let's see that clasp Joe.

someone screwed up on that and it ain't Rolex. I'm Rolex stupid but I know ain't two crowns on a Rolex band.

After further inspection the dial looks like a proper Mark VI in the right serial range. So I don't think were looking at a fake here, but the fliplock still has me puzzled. Maybe it broke and they ordered it years ago.

I messaged the seller and hope to find out what the story about the clasp.

Obvious fake aimed at the uninitiated. There are many oddball clasp
Iterations, but this isn't one of them. I'd stay away from a seller that
Would try to sell a watch with an obvious fake part.
