I might buy it if the watch also came with the rare perpetual screw down crown. You know...the one where you try to screw the crown down but it never tightens?

Yeah.

Spider dial is simply a flaw...

I think the spider dial, much like the early gilt tropics, the formerly white (now creme 16550's) and the Patrizzi Daytona's are dial flaws that create beauty and demand. If you like it and can get one for a reasonable price go for it!!

I wouldn't. IMO, it is a defect vs. patina. I admit is personal taste, and there is room for all in this world. If you like it, knock yourself out I say.
