Considering getting first AP (ROC) but wanted to ask some current owners...
Hi guys as stated I am really getting the itch for a 41mm ROC with white dial. I wanted to ask some current owners if it could be a daily wearer?
I bought a 116610LV about 2 months ago and I really do love it however I am possibly starting a new job soon which is going to be suits 6 days a week. While I do agree the ceramic subs do go nicely with suits I think/hope the ROC will be absolutely perfect for my new job and also the weekend! My worry is picking up scratches a lot as my Rolex is incredibly robust etc My job will involve a lot of desk diving etc also do people swim/steam in them etc as when I am travelling leaving it in the gym bag is a big no no for me personally! I realise in an ideal world I would have both but I am 25 years old and would 100% have to flip the LV to get this and realistically it would be my daily wearer. I am a bit worried maybe I am jumping ahead of myself? Is the AP more of a watch to go with another that's lesser value? Any help would be hugely appreciated! P.s worth noting is I have only seen the black dial in person and white in pictures but think the white might be better suited to my taste. Here she is: |

You will get scrtaches that its a fact, I have a diver and a 15400 that I use regularly and both have marks, the bracelet specifaclly from the desk but that happens to any watch regarding the brand, of course you can use it daily but if you are bothered by marks it might be an issue.

Stick with the Sub. Perfect daily imo. I use a Sub on weekdays, APs come out weekends.

Rolex is more reliable.
Save from your 6 day work week and get the AP as a 2nd |

I'd swap - you won't regret it.
I had a 14060M and sold it to buy a Diver. I have had it over a year - very accurate and no problems at all...and it still looks like new despite being worn daily. The ROC is an awesome watch and really a big step up from the Sub. |

I say save for it.
Only because I personally could not see being Rolex-less. The ROC is an awesome piece though. |

I'd get it. But not the 41mm version, 39mm is perfect.

The new ROC is such a gorgeous piece, esp the silver dial, that I can't advise against getting one. If you have other watches that can be worn to spare the ROC at times then great, but if its going to be your only watch then you might have to be more careful with it and maybe the Rolex is better.

Keep the Rolex. I do the same thing desk dive and workout with mine. No problems. With the lv water is no concern. Save up and get the roc as a fun piece.
And yeah I totally agree work out with the watch on! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Definitely stick with the sub. I like my AP's but you have to be more careful with the to avoid the scratches.

I have no issues wearing an LVc daily with suits. But, if you want the ROC, why not?

i agree with the others, keep the LV and save up another 5 years and get the ROC for your 30th
Takes a bit of time but the LV is definitely a keeper My RO bezel is a scratch magnet even though I (think) I wear it carefully (and only on "special" occasions) |

I just want to say thank you all so much for the responses and very sound advice! I did have a slight feeling I was jumping ahead of myself and that together they would be a bit of a dream team in my opinion. I have decided if I get the job I will squirrel an amount away every month and buy it in 2-4 years or something.
I know in my heart if it was my only watch and was scratched up from daily use I would be quite sad. The LV has taken a few dings since I got it and have been amazed with just wiping off the ceramic bezel and seeing no marks whatsoever! Damn fine watch and one day she will be mine.. definitely need to go see a white dial in person too. |

Keep the LV. Its the same as having money in your pocket. You can always find something new later.

The Aps might be a scratch magnets, but IMO is the satin finished oyster bracelet much more easy to scratch.
Aps bracelet have the brushed finish, better IMO |

If you're on a budget don't forget to factor in the service costs. APs can be a little more than Rolex.

Good decision.
I believe you'll get the ROC sooner rather than later and that having both the Rolex and the AP will be extremely gratifying. Quote:
