What is this?

Sorry for bad pic, only one I have. Is it rare, or sought after? Basically, is it worth giving this watch a closer look or is it clearly fake or junk?

My best guess ......

What you have there is a mid '40s Rolex bubble-back. Going by the bezel style, possibly a reference 3725.
Chronometer rated too so if tuned up properly can be a very accurate time-keeper even by today's standards.

Cool watch and dial and hands looks original to me but one of the real BB whizzes like Adam will be a better judge of that.
Even in those days, there were heaps of dial variations, and nowadays many we see have refinished dials (some almost as old as the watches themselves).

Nice watch - thanks for posting

Thanks for the info. I used that info to start my search and the closest thing I could find was a 3372 t-bird. You're not kidding, a lot of dial variety back then!

Neat watch...but if it is near to the same one I found, doesn't appear to be worth asking price (usd5k), but always fun to do the research.

What is this?

Yep nice bubble back, they are a representation of a great period for Rolex the introduction of the automatic movement. Not worth 5 k but a nice watch. Rolex has made just about every shape and their dial variation is enormous over the years.
