an FYI regarding Ceramic
Good morning all!
Just thought I'd drop some information on my fellow AP-enthusiast brethren. As of late, AP has been using ceramic as a case material more frequently (look at the SIHH...white ceramic Diver, white ceramic 44mm, and a gray 44mm) so I thought it'd be worth asking them how much a replacement case would cost should something happen to it. I got a quote back for $3580 for middle case and then you add labor (in the case of my Orange Diver). ![]() That's almost 3x as much as a case replacement for Forged Carbon (roughly $1100-1300). |

Thanks for sharing, Jason. I remember there's a post mentioning about the cost of SS case middle but can't seem to find it now. Any idea about the cost for it?
Anyway, gorgeous picture buddy! ![]()

i know titanium is about 130-1400 so I have to imagine it'd be around 1000 or so?

The Ti & FC seem very reasonably priced. I guess ceramic must be a lot more costly in labour terms to work with and machine. Or possibly AP have had to build in a set up or capital cost in their rates for investment in new machinery etc.
I wonder what a gold ROO case costs? I got a price from APSC in UK for a gold tang buckle, £1115, (1850 USD) wow!!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks for the info Jason. I am curious to know, looks aside, in your opinion, which is the more comfortable Diver to wear? FC or Ceramic?

If I had to choose between keeping the FC or the Ceramic...currently I'd say Ceramic over FC...BUT...this is always subject to change. Luckily I don't have to sell either so I will do my best to spread the love equally. |

You are quite right. While purely on looks, I still find the SS Diver the nicest of the three, but the weight is a drag and I generally never wear my SS Diver for more than 2 days consecutively. |

Hopefully a case change will never be required on a ceramic as it doesn't scratch
I appreciate they can chatter if dropped onto a hard surface, but how often have you dropped a watch of that value onto concrete! I would have no problem with owning a ceramic Besides, good home insurance should cover damage to that extent |

To be clear - this is for the case, not the bezel right?
Does anyone know how much it would be for a ROO? |

I guess I am in the minority in that it does not sound that bad to me. Of course, my expectations were conditioned by a thread some time ago about replacing a PAM ceramic case where the price was pretty much equal to the full price of the watch.
