just joined, from east coast!
hello,
well, I found this website, and was very eager to start reading/learning more about the world of luxury watches. well, I don't think I stand alone on this one, but like others, I made a rookie mistake. when I first wanted to collect watches, the first 12-14 watches I bought, were borderline a waste of money... ughh smh... but you learn. I was buying, movados, citizens, bulova, etc... I don't want to use the word regret, because, I like some of the pieces, but at the same time... I do wish I had just taken all that money and put it towards 1, really nice piece. so, long story short, I finally took the plunge, and I got a rolex date just! (pics to come) and now I'm addicted, and hopefully, i'll be working and saving to get a submariner. well, once again, it's a pleasure to be on here, and I'm eager to learn and read up on more time pieces. |

Welcome, don't think of buying different brands and wasting money, call it training...
I did the same thing, bought lots of inexpensive watches and kept them for no reason. Once I reduced my collection to just a few nice pieces I started to appreciate them a bit more...

ok, like I said ... still new.
question for you folks. I just heard a rumor.. that, supposingly, if you change the date on your watching between the hours of 9pm-3am, it damages your watch? is this a hoax, or ... seriously something I MUST BE WARY OF.... not only on my date just, but ALL WATCHES!???? quartz or automatic? if it sounds like a rookie question, it's probably because it is. haha thanks, any info would help |
