Letter & Serial numbers.

As I understand it, the latest serial letter is Z, introduced in May 2006.

However, it is rumoured that there should be a new letter for the 2008 series, can anyone confirm this and in such case, what should the letter be?

Actually, I posted two quickly. I do think that it is possible for some Z's to be 2008 release, I don't know if there is a way to tell for sure. If it has a CRB it should be 2008 whether it is a Z or M. M's are definitely 2008.

Can anyone else back me up on this?

Mik, the M-series started in the Autumn of 2007. But since nothing is set in stone with Rolex, I would - as you suggest - not be surprised if Z-series Rolex watches are still leaving the manufactory.

Thanks Bo. Didn't realize that is was 3rd quarter or '07 for the M's.

did the crb start at any particular time, or was it introduced at a certain serial number/prefix?

I couldn't get a definitive answer on that. I have seen both Z's and M's with and without the CRB. You have to ask if it has it to make sure. You could use it as a bargaining chip if you don't care as everyone seems to want the CRB.

The CRB ring started from the later Z-series models. My Platty Z-62XXXX has it!!
