Is this a no-brainer?

Got the wife a mid-sized Pink MOP SS/WG Datejust for her upcoming b-day (thanks to those that assisted with the decision here) and officially started the addiction about 2 weeks back. I've been about foaming at the mouth to get one myself since then. I travel a lot and all that I've noticed on fellow First passengers in the air have been their Rolex's- a handful of Plat YM's, a couple of Subs, a few DJ's, one or two GMT's. I got the itch so bad for a watch that I even got temporarily hooked on a Omega Speedmaster Broad Arrow- until I actually put it on my wrist, that is...
So when I went back into the AD's this week to give them the shipping info for where to send my wife's watch (delivering it to our vacation spot), I thought that I'd go ahead and try on a Sub. Been wanting one since I was a kid, off and on for 15+ years now. The Sub was really the only sport Rolex that I knew of at the time. Let me state for the record that I am by no means a watch aficionado- I've had a Tag since in HS and haven't even worn that for almost 2 years now. When I got to the AD, I tried on the Sub and YM. Liked, but did not LOVE, the sub. YM was the same story; I think that the IDEA of a Plat watch was the part that I really liked as I wasn't personally crazy about the monotone scheme on my wrist. Then I saw the new GMT IIc. Put it on and was continually drawn to it. Something about that shimmering bezel and the polished center links just did it for me. Almost like a bigger sub with some flash. After talking with the AD about my potential 2nd Rolex purchase from them in as many weeks, they offered over 10% off, shipping to avoid tax, an additional 3-year warranty on top of the standard Rolex warranty, free cleaning and service with their in-house certified watch maker over the 1st 5 years, and 12-months 0% financing. I put a deposit on the watch and am now trying to decide is this DEFINITELY what I want to do. So, oh wise forum members, any advice or things that you feel I should consider here? Or, is this one of those situations that really is a "no-brainer?"

Any thoughts/considerations/ideas you've got to offer are certainly appreciated.

Nick,

the deal sounds very good! So:

1) if the SS GMT IIc smiled back at you, which it did, and

2) if you have the funds to buy it, then

yes, it's a no-brainer! Go get it!

Thanks for the input guys! I really feel like this is one of those things that I'll look back and regret not doing, especially if it costs me $1k more to pull the trigger later this year.

I did try them all. The GMT honestly felt the best- Big, but not bulky. It also just seemed to look 'right' on my wrist. I kinda feel like if I'm going to take the plunge, this is about as good as it's going to get- Great watch, can dress up or dress down, price isn't getting any better, and I'm using their $ for a year. I always tend to over analyze things in my head like this- little minuscule non-issues often keep me from striking right away. Good thing to suppress impulse buys, bad for my stress level over the buying cycle.

Nick, follow your heart that's been telling you something for the last 15+ years. Dont let something with more bling hypnotize you away from your first, and hopefully forever, love. Get a Sub.

Michael- Definitely appreciate the thoughts towards the Sub. What I realized when I actually went to the AD with the intent to buy for ME and not just look while buying for the wife was that I really liked the polished center links, ceramic bezel, and overall size of the GMT better. Think that I am heading back over there this afternoon to do my final kicking of the tires and I'll likely try them both on again just to make sure. Right now, though, my heart says GMT.

That's a big no brainer. In my AD today. No GMT II in inventory. Told me next weekend SS up 8% gold and 2tone more. 10% off current price is awesome, plus all the other percs.

Love it Tarheel! Good call!

Update- I'm going tomorrow to finish the deal. Work had me tied up all afternoon and I didn't get a chance to head over. Will be going in the morning when they open. The more I think about it, the more I come to the conclusion that I just can't pass on this one. I'm giddy thinking about actually owning my 1st Rolex! Of course, I've bought my wife 2 now before one for me... :)

OK, it's done. The SS GMT IIc is officially mine. Won't be on my wrist for another week and a half, though. Thanks so much for all of your help. Really feel like a came away with a smoking deal on this PLUS got to use their money and got extended service. Nothing like buying 2 Rolex in as many weeks.

Will (try to) post pics in a few weeks once they are officially on our wrists.
