Chronoscope - service results help
Hi,
I recently had a watch serviced and I got this 'chronoscope' result. I'm not familiar with this device, so can someone please explain? What do the different symbols mean? Many thanks in advance! |

It looks like symbols to indicate the watch was timed face-up, face-down, crown-down, crown-left, crown-up, and crown-right.

The D line is the difference in seconds between the fastest and slowest position.
The X line is the average of all the above positions in seconds. Second Column of numbers starting with 297, is amplitude measured on degrees. Last column is beat error. What caliber does your watch have? Sent from my iPhone 5s using Tapatalk

Thanks for your answers!
Now I understand, but these results are not very good I think? Shouldn't a COSC watch have (average?) difference between -4/+6 seconds? Since this watch is recently serviced, do you think I should go back and demand it to be within COSC specs? Thanks! |

Depends on age and caliber of the watch. The vintage time pieces have different tolerances.

Yes. But wear it and look at the time difference. Don't rely on the timing machine. It could need to be calibrated....
