Using a conversion chart 100 bucks in 72 would be worth about 550 today
which is about right because a new Stratocaster was 225.00-275.00 back in 72 and thats about 1250-1400 today. A Mustang was considered a beginners guitar back then but I could not afford a Strat or Jaguar which is what I really wanted. Now those Japanese made Mustangs are highly sought after, |

Was your guitar something like this? There are only a few listed on Ebay - a couple of Mustang basses, too - and they're selling for quite a bit more than $550. Dave still gets misty-eyed over the 1970s Gibson S.G. he sold in the '80s to fund another guitar. |

![]() Now I see we're talking guitars! I still haven't bought a nice 12 string acoustic guitar but a reverse Flying V is always on my list...I know it's not a popular model but I fell in love when I first saw it, what say you? ![]()

Interesting how people can polarize when the discussions turn to "Fender" versus "Gibson." My husband has always liked, and collected, both. He says it just depends on what sound you're in the mood for, though with all of the distortion pedals and whatnot it seems like you can get about any sound to come out of either of them!

The Strat has such a crisp clean sound.....Second fav. The Jaguar , Mustang, and Jazz I have not played enough anymore to make a call. I keep my Telecaster in open g tuning and Strat in open e Its kinda like when I was a kid.....Ford, Chevy Pontiac Buick, Dodge gets the same fanatical response.....or today Harley Davidson When I walk into a Guitar Center I go right to the Fenders and never even look or play a Gibson. |

Sorry you don't feel well, Judy. I'm lucky in that I just don't get sick, often. But I had a bad cold, flu or something in January that was terrible, I worked through it though. Sore throat, headache, cough, post nasal drip, muscle ache, and could not taste my food. I'm sure if an elderly had what I did it would have not been good. So whatever it is this year it's bad.
It's been very nice, mid 80's. I guess 28 or so to you. |

Ugh, Judy. Thank goodness for antibiotics... hope they kick butt. Your work schedule is tough - not much time for rest. Hope you feel better soon.

Wowee, Art. You're good at this!
I was thinking about popping open a tin of smoked oysters to have with some crackers... they're really good on pizza, though. Maybe I should go to the trouble and make one. Nah, too lazy. ![]() |

Oh - for dinner tonight I'm going to be more ambitious. Baked jalapeno poppers (I'm going to try and duplicate the restaurant kind, without frying them), fresh guacamole, and grilled chicken breasts marinated in cumin, lime juice and diced jalapeno. Rice on the side.

A question for you guys... I love this video; it was Paul Potts' audition on Britain's Got Talent. It's worth a look on its own, but who can tell me more about Simon Cowell's watch? Paul Newman Daytona?

Almost looks like a Breitling but don't know. On AI he used to wear a JLC Master Tourbillion.
