Ah yes, peanuts in coke - a Southern tradition. Brings back memories and I still do it from time to time. I miss those old glass bottles. The coke seemed to taste a little better in them.

I think it's the Smokehouse BBQ in Greenville, AL on I-65 that still has those little cokes in the bottle right by the front door. Two cokes and two bags of peanuts will take you all the way to Mobile. Pouring peanuts into a coke bottle at 70+ mph is no easy feat but well worth it.

My father was in the army. Lived in a lot of small army camps here and there in different provinces in Canada. One camp had a total of 36 familes. There wasn't a lot to do to amuse ourselves and I was pretty creative.
