Different style# in the warranty card for submariner
Dear all,
I just purchased a new Rolex steel and 18k gold submarine with date from an authorized dealer. However from the warranty card, the style # is 116613N instead of 116613LN as in Rolex official website. The serial number is random serial and I check the serial number on the case and it matches with the warranty card. Can anybody tell me why the style# is different? Does that mean it is a old or pre-owned watch? I paid around $13500. Thanks a lot! |

Thanks a lot for your reply. So does that mean no problem at all?
I'm still confused why it would have a different style number. In official website, it is LN for all subs...could it be a gray market one? |

Did you get a tag with the watch as well ? What does it say ?
LN stands for Lunette Noir(black), I haven't seen yet reference number as just "N" |

The L is unstated because it always means "Lunette" or bezel insert and so it is redundant. The only thing that will be different is the color, either Noir or Verti. So, it doesn't mean anything if it is there or not and can be seen either way and always has been. Gray Market watches are simply watches imported, bypassing the Distributor. There is never a difference between a Gray Market watch and an "authorized" watch except the warranty is not valid because it was not originally (first) sold to a consumer by an AD.

I don't receive the watch yet since it will be shipped to my state to save some tax...once I receive it, I will upload the picture then!

@tools: could it be a genuine watch originally shipped to other country with a different style number and then being imported to the AD? That's my only theory. I called the AD and they told me no idea....

I just called Rolex. The customer service told me that they don't print LN in the warranty card, just N. Can anyone here who have 116613LN please look at your warranty card to confirm that? Really appreciate it!
