Crystal replacement

Anyone know what it would cost to have my wife's midsize DJ sapphire crystal replaced? She put it in her backpack going through TSA and didn't bother to put it back on until 5 hours later, when we discovered the crack. Ouch!

Also I now live in SF, but in the past have only used NYC. Any local exoeriences with the SF ASC?

No personal experience with RSC in SF, but I have heard great things about them. New sapphire crystal should run you ~$200. Hopefully they won't expect you to get a full service if it is just cracked.

Crystal replacement

Giovanni is great. I've used them several times since they're local. I did a full service during the holidays and they were backed up and took longer than normal. It should be better now. Another other option is Davidson & Licht in WC or San Jose or Kern's in Burlingame. Both have onsite watchmakers.

$700 to $900 for full service and crystal replacement from ASC in Union Square! I guess so, its time. Got his and hers DJ as a wedding present in 2007. Been trying to save for a white Explorer II though.

Hope you hacked it! They will have to service it to make sure no shards of tje crystal got into the movement.
