How about this 1680

My local vintage rolex dealer just listed this 1680 from the 1978. It's just serviced. I recently got an 14060 but still have a feeling that vintage could be more my thing. Would you flip it to this one?

Sorry about the gigantic pic. Don't know how to make it smaller...

How about this 1680

It's a service dial so it depends what on price he wants for it (given everything else in watch is good).

That dial will negatively affect future value vs. a factory dial of same age.

Correct dials are not difficult to find and not too pricey. Since you asked, I would go for the 1680 - if the price is right - and have it on the wrist by now.

As others have said - all boils down to $$££

It wouldn't interest me, but to each his own.

The 14060 will be vintage is due time. You've already got the perfect Sub.

Personally, I would wait and find a better example, unless you can get it at a steal. I am more of a vintage guy so I would definitely trade when the right one comes a long.

I won't mind taking it if the price is right. I bought a 1680 fully RSC restored from a member here, practically its like brand new, new case, service dial, hands and bracelet. I still love it and treat it as a new watch instead of vintage, am happy with it.

Cheers

Thanks for your answers. I ended up flipping the 14060 to this meters first 5513. Having luminium hands felt bit compromising.
