Would this be a Bad choice?
Hoping you all might be able to educate me.
I am hoping to find an older example.. .and thought this is different but for me the dial looks not quite right. on the left side of the case - as if when closed there is a space? Maybe just me. Someone in italian on review indicated seller describes with imagination.. . ;( and as for the rest .. movement, case, dial, crown.. I look to you who are so generous with your time and expertise :) Thanks for any and all help and guidance! |

I think someone got creative with the case and dial, but that's about all I can say. Not my territory, but looks a bit of a mess to me!

Personally I love the case, an early W&D/rolex case. The dial has been refinished though

Gee, MonBK..I'm just eager to learn, no, not a joke at all.. :( Maybe you could elaborate? I have some great books and read a lot but remain a novice.. .
Originally, the case is what caught my eye.. but am wondering what the original might have actually looked like..now that you have all been kind enough to enlighten me. It's why I asked if it would be a "Bad Choice" versus a Good one. |

There are some Rolexes that cannot stand the test of time and crawl slowly toward the abyss of oblivion...this piece would be one such Rolex.

I think it's pretty clear the dial has been "enhanced", but it has a lot of character and would imagine that it might look nice on the wrist with the proper strap. If the price is appropriate to the condition and unoriginal nature then go for it.
