Rare vintage Rolexes are worth every penny, but I truly believe prices are just too high now. I wonder if this uptrend will continue and at what rate?

As long as the stock market continues to have ridiculous gains like it did this last year, prices will continue to be very high. When the stock market corrects, the vintage Rolex market will correct somewhat as well.

Crazy prices. I do think we're in some sort of a watch craze era right now. It might slow down at some point, but I'm not sure now is a great time to buy these rarities.

I wonder what this Sub would have changed hands for 20 years ago???

That dial looks way too clean for being in a Radium environment for 60 years...likely has been redone IMHO.
Are the Mercedes hands right for a 6200 which supposedly predates the 6204/6205 which both had the original "pencil hands".
One wonders what kind of provenance that is attached to this watch to justify the auction price. When new it was porobably a $100 watch...hard to imagine many (if any) have original purchase papers/receipts etc. to provide an airtight provenance. Nice piece of vintage Rolex history anyways! Maybe Rolex bought it back for their museum?
