Would you dive with your AP?

Cool pic.

Each watch has its purpose and the ROO is the chronograph feature.

The purpose of the dive watch is purely depth capability and calculating the length of time underwater with that handy bezel.

The analogy of the Ferrari is nice but it is meant to go fast. The ROO is not meant to dive. Hence the diver model. Now we're talking comparisons!

And yes, u would drive it in the rain

But I guess the feeling is one of buying a Ferrari and putting it in the garage. They make these machines to meet extreme performance criteria so I figured I'd take it for a spin.

It's very cool to me that something can at the same time be so beautiful and yet so very functional.
I agree with you 100%.

Alex has a point here!

Each watch has it's purpose. That's why we can't live with only one watch
But watches need to be worn not stuck in a safe somewhere

I never thought twice about diving with a stainless steel divers watch. I'd definitely think twice about an AP and definitely think a third time for a precious metal AP.

I'm totally bemused by this thread. Diver = Water. It's function over form. Pressure test it regularly and use it for the purpose that it was designed for. I always make sure that the crowns are tight and into the water, I go. As for the precious metals concern, I used my gold day date in water regularly and never had a problem. Granted it wasn't an AP. nor did I dive. Pool and hot tub were the deepest it went. I always get pressure tests. If you have a relationship with a store or a watchmaker, they will do it while you wait. Most don't even charge you.

I only wear my Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Dark Knight diving. I used to wear my TT Bluesy but I traded it for the WG bluesy, and I'm not taking that diving.

Damaged goods

Guys, nobody has mentioned scratches... What about the scratches???!!!
Have a look at your dive watches; they're all scratched up. The more you dive, the more they get scratched, period.

I wear everything & am not careful. Enjoy it, it's paid for.

I wouldn't take it beyond it's suggested depth is all.

I just did 9 dives in Australia with my FC Diver. No issues. Deepest I went was 29.6 meters. My question is why wouldn't I go diving with it? It's a dive watch.

Your RG ROO is rated to 100 m so I am not sure it is suited for diving but certainly snorkeling.

There are various tables on the web that describe wr ratings, watches, and give a real world description of what activities each rating us really good for.

Just curious as to why? Does gold leak? My friend dives with his white gold sub all the time. Hasn't let him down yet. Its rated to 300 meters and as of yet the deepest hes gone is just over 30 meters. If its a dive watch, dive with it, SS, Gold, FC, or ceramic
