What are the main differences between a D series and M series TT Submariner ?

As it states.... I was looking for a TT Sub with a black bezel and Serti dial. Are there any major differences between D Series and newer versions? Thanks!

Engraved rehaut came along with the M serial, no? That's a "big difference" to a lot of people.

They are not "series" in the sense that Rolex changes anything. They are simply serial number prefixes upon which nothing is based.

The engraved rehaut came along during the F serials for gold models, Z serials for SS models and may have been earlier on TT models. Perhaps there are some minor font differences although serti dials are not researched very much..

X2 With Larry most models in the sub range have hardly changed since introduction of the cal 3135 in 1988.And what changes there have been are mainly cosmetic and a few different fonts.Even the modern ceramic subs uses basically the same cal 3135 movement.

Not engrave bezel but the inside ring from the watch face to the crystal is engraved Rolex in a circle with the serial number visible as well. Some find it busy others like it. It is a matter of taste and I suspect and attempt a reducing forgeries.
