Production Year of Post 2010 Rolex Watches

Since the move to Random serial numbers, how do determine if a watch was made in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 etc.? Is the AD the only one with this information?

the more time passes the more paperwork will get lost....so, unlike the old days, the papers now have become even more important...
