Black vs white
No this is not a thread about what you think Michael Jackson is
![]() How do you guys feel about white dials vs black dials on professional models? For me I feel that in SS the black dials look the best, however in TT models I really like the lighter coloured dials. The TT Daytona 116523 with the white dial is a clear winner, not a fan at all of the black dial 116523. Black dial SS daytona on the other hand I LOVE!!!!! Now there are exceptions of course, for me the blue dials look pretty good on the TT Sub and YM. |

The only sports Rolex white dials look good on are the SS Daytona, the DD and the DJ. (yes, DD and DJ are sports since the Cellini line is their dress line).
Black for all other SS models. The white ExpII does NOTHING for me, as the original ExpII was only available in black, and IMHO the white doesn't look right. Particularly the WG markers and hands painted black. ![]() On TT, the grey and serti dials look nice, as do the blue dials. I also quite like the black MOP on the YG YM or Daytona. Meteorite is awesome on both the WG Daytona and the DD. |

Hmm. I'll buck the trend here and put my vote in favour of white for the E2. To be, a black dial looks great when it's matched by a coloured bezel. However, when the bezel is light or of a neutral colour (e.g. the E2 or the 16200), the black dial looks somewhat out of place, and a white dial matches it better.

Well, I like white better.
I think it goes well with a suit, jeans, khakis....well, everything! (Yes, I AM one of those who matches belt, shoes & watch!)

I'm with Gedanken on this one. I have had both the black and white dial Ex II, and the white is far better. It's the most visible and easy to read dial of all the sport models, and it's nighttime glow is outstanding.
I thought my black dial Ex II looked like an incomplete Sub, or worse, the Sub's little brother. The white dial Ex II is in a class by itself, and far more distinctive. I also prefer the white dial Daytona, but forget about trying to read the damn thing. Get yourself a Speedy if you want a chronograph that is actually legible.

For SS sports models, black is the way to go.
For TT or the likes of the oyster perpetual line, it is whatever smiles most at you. |

SUBFIEND, ask your accountant this question...
" If I buy "You" ( your accountant) a Daytona ,can I write it off as an accounting expense?" Then "IF my accountant were to buy "ME" (subfiend) a Daytona , in order to retain "ME" as a client, Can "YOU"(your accountant) write it off?"

My accountant already wears a TT Blue Sub.
I'm not too sure about him though. My office manager told me his assistant treats car insurance payments for my company car as a draw of income to me. WTF? ![]()
