Although it's a nice watch, no way I would consider it an only watch. Maybe if I had 6 watches.

I added it to the collection today. It's stunning in person but it would not be my only watch. I wasn't expecting it to arrive today so the shirt clashes a bit with it.

It seems that almost everybody is thinking that your first and only watch has to be black dialled 116610ln, 114060 or 116710ln. After that it is accetable to buy a green Hulk or Polar Exp2 or some other less conservative watch.
I have Hulk, Polar Explorer 2 and Milgauss GV. They are all watches that people probably wouldn't buy as a first and only watch. So they are all "second choices". Not for me. I could wear any of them as my only watch. |

As far as those whom say it will go with anything...I'm pretty sure your pic above has effectively disproved that theory real fast! |

I had my hulk as my first Rolex and only watch for over a year and never got tired of it. It still gets a heck of a lot of wrist time. Never had a single regret with it. I love it more now that the day I bought it.

That doesn't take away anything that Hulk is great, its just that very few will prefer it to be their 1st Rolex as you can't wear it everywhere and every occasion like the regular Sub! Its a great 2nd watch! |

The colors change depending on the ambient light. It's not just all green, all the time. I think it can be a one and done daily wearer. IMHO. |

I was really into swapping my LNc for one last year but I don't feel as strongly now, so I understand those who have changed their minds about them after a while.

I stick with black, silver, white, blue, and red. I tried Omega Planet Ocean orange because I love the way the watch looks when it's not on me...but when I was wearing it I felt like a weirdo. Seems the green would be the same way. That's just me, though..

i like the enthusiasm, but, it's largely academic. the day someone doesn't buy an SS sports rolex because, "OH NO!!!", it doesn't go with a tux, i will genuinely be surprised....not to mention, anyone going to enough tuxedo events generally will have the budget to buy a second watch, anyway (or simply not wear a watch - which is the "proper" thing to do). |

I recently faced the same choice when deciding which to purchase.
Although I have a 16610 and a 16610LV, I decided on a regular SubC as a daily wear, so I can keep my discontinued 16610 in good condition and from sustaining any further damage. And of course because a regular black sub is just such a classic watch. It's the iconic Rolex sports model. Don't get me wrong, the LV is an absolutely gorgeous watch, no doubt about it! But if choosing only one, you have to go with the classic. The green is obviously a little more flashy and noticeable, and it may not fit with all forms of attire (ie. a dark suit or even perhaps a tuxedo- not that I wear the later all that much... but I wear suits several times per week). My genuine advice is keep the SubC and slowly save-up for the LV. Because it's relatively new, there aren't as many in the pre-owned market now, but that will change over time. Both are awesome and you can't go wrong with either one. |

Let me just say this again: Th LV is an absolutely gorgeous watch!!!!!
But the classic suits me better as a daily wear. |
